- Authorities in Iraq have decided to remove the visa-on-arrival requirement for nationals of the European Union and several other countries, requiring them to now apply for an e-visa to enter Iraq through the official platform.
- Visa on arrival or eVisa for up to 30 days for travel to Iraqi Kurdistan.
- The Dutch government advises its citizens not to travel to Iraq due to the high threat of terrorist attacks in the country. The only exception is the Kurdish Autonomous Region, whereas the Dutch government advises its citizens to travel there only if necessary. Though this was revised after the Iran–Israel war with the Dutch government advising its citizens not to travel to the entirety of Iraq

- Vaccinations: Routine vaccinations should be up to date. Hepatitis A and Typhoid are recommended.
- Healthcare: Medical facilities are limited and may not meet Western standards. Serious medical conditions will require evacuation. Travel insurance is essential.

- Exchange Info: Currency can be exchanged at banks and authorized bureaux de change. ATMs are limited.
- Typical Costs: Iraq is a relatively inexpensive country. A meal at a local restaurant can cost around $5-10 USD.
- Payment Methods: Cash (IQD or USD) is the most common form of payment. Credit cards are rarely accepted.
Transportation
- Getting Around: Taxis are available in major cities. Road conditions are poor and travel outside of major towns can be dangerous.
- Driving Requirements: An International Driving Permit is required. Driving at night is not recommended.
